| The missed call at Warnemünde left room in the schedule for an early arrival in Stockholm. Originally the captain was hoping to dock around midday, to give us almost two full days in Stockholm. But during the summer the Baltic Sea is like a shopping mall at Christmas; it's tough to find a place to park. There was no room for us to dock until 7PM, so we took our time getting there, and were treated to a leisurely scenic trip through the Stockholm Archipelago on a fairly clear and mild afternoon. | |

The Stockholm Archipelago consists of over 1000 islands. Some are rocky, like this one, while others are lush and green. Some are inhabited during the summer, some all year round, and others not at all. |

A lucky shot! This sailboat looks like Rory can reach out and touch
it! We had a great view from our vantage point at the bow of the ship on the Navigation Deck. |

We had to take it slow through the Archipelago because the bow wake created by the ship would have wreaked havoc on the islands and especially the other boats in the water! This scenic cruise took over three hours. |

This was an interesting-looking building. When we saw it the next day, our "tour guide" told us he believed it was an asylum. This picture was taken in the dining room at dinner. |

The next day during our tour, we were on this island and got to see the view from the "other side". |

The entrance to the city! We saw this from the other side, too. |

I thought this was the Town Hall in Stockholm but it's not. Although, after looking at several pictures of the real Town Hall, I see where I got confused. I don't know what this is. Rory thinks this might be the asylum, not the other building! Why didn't we take notes! |
| After dinner, we were permitted to leave the ship. We walked around the Old Town but somehow I managed to leave without my camera! A lot of the shops were closed but it was a nice night to be out. We came back in time to take some great sunset photos from the Navigation Deck. There are a lot because I had a hard time deciding which ones not to use! | |

This is an amusement park that was just across from the ship. Rory took a great movie of some people on the rides and if I knew how to show it on the web, it would be here. The next day we saw one bright red ferry after another take people to and from the park, despite the rainy weather. |

These are a few pictures that I left in because I thought they were pretty. |

I especially liked this one, with the lights of the city reflecting on the water. |

Here's something we don't see on the east coast of the US- a sky like this at 10:54PM! |
| When it's light at 11PM, who feels like going to bed?! | |

This is a silly picture...it is a piece of watermelon pie that I ordered for dessert. I ordered it because I had no idea what "watermelon pie" would taste like. It was watermelon sherbet, with lime sherbet for the "rind" and chocolate chips for the "seeds". It looked better than it tasted. |

Photoshop lightened this photo but unfortunately it couldn't airbrush me out without ruining it. Here we are posing with the seals on the Lido Deck. Luckily the camera has a timer. We would have hated to ask someone to WATCH this! |

Rory goofing off on the Lido Deck. Originally she posed IN the towel
bin but the photo was so dark I deleted it, and she had a tough time getting
in and out so we decided against a retake. Maybe we should have gone to bed! |
